"Together As One For Maui"
The Dhesi family graced me with their presence for a photo session that went beyond the sunset backdrop—it was a genuine display of aloha and support adorned in "Show Aloha Challenge" T-shirts.
This family had won their free photo session by purchasing locally handcrafted ornaments through Lahaina Strong, and being entered into a raffle. The proceeds from the sales of these ornaments, as well as the "Show Aloha Challenge" shirts, have been channeled directly to individuals impacted by the Lahaina fire.
The "Show Aloha Challenge" shirts, printed by PrintPros company and distributed through the SAC Foundation, represent more than just fabric—they symbolize a collective effort to rebuild and support one another in times of need.
As we strolled along the sandy shores, capturing candid moments and posed portraits, it became evident that these images held more than just visual beauty. They encapsulated the power of community, the resilience of Lahaina, and the spirit of aloha that prevails even in challenging times
In sharing this story, my hope is to not only showcase the love of the Dhesi family but also to highlight the impact that small gestures, like purchasing local art and supporting initiatives such as the "Show Aloha Challenge," can have on a community in need. As a Lahaina-based photographer, it is both an honor and a responsibility to contribute to and document the stories that make our community strong.
